2013 Royal Astronomical Society's Group Achievement Award for Geophysics

2013 Royal Astronomical Society's Group Achievement Award for Geophysics will be presented to UK MHD Consortium of which QMUL’s Dr David Tsiklauri is a member of.

The group leader Prof Alan Hood (St Andrews) will be receiving the award at the National Astronomy Meeting in St Andrews on July 1-5 this year on behalf of the Consortium. Dr David Tsiklauri is a member of the UK MHD Consortium. He and his Post Doctoral Research Assistants and PhD students also extensively use the UKMHD computational facilities. This award recognizes outstanding achievement by large research groups. The Consortium, which has computational nodes located in St. Andrews, Warwick and Leeds, has successfully developed and promoted the facility and tools to carry out large-scale magnetohydrodynamics (MHD) and other numerical simulations in the UK, and has worked to expand the UK parallel computing user base including by training the next generation of researchers. Further details can be found here and here.
