Abstract: 

Ice mantles on interstellar dust grains are the birthplace of the prebiotic molecular inventory that feeds nascent solar systems, including planets and planetesimals. In this talk, I will present extensive laboratory work on the formation of simple species and complex organic molecules in the solid phase under dark molecular cloud conditions and their physico-chemical evolution throughout the formation of a solar-like system. This work ultimately contribute to our understanding of the origin of life in the Universe.
